Product Description
Comprehensive history of the Eugene Country Club. Today's club would not bring to mind the rich history the ECC has acquired throughout its century plus residence in the Eugene area. The ingenious fairways, exquisite greens and sparkling waters stand tribute to our history and continued commitment to improvement.According to old records the original course was located on College Hill and founded mostly by doctors, lawyers, and associates of the local University who all shared a great love of golf. This was in 1899 and while many things have changed over the years that passion for the game has remained strong within our membership.By the early 1920's the ECC had gone forward with the plan to pick a new site and the area on the current Country Club Road was agreed upon for its prime location near downtown. By 1924 the front nine was open for business with the full 18 holes opening in 1925.As word got around about Eugene's new course the ECC's membership and reputation grew. Through the Depression, wars, storms and remodels the Club adapted and changed to meet and excel standards that make the ECC the Top 100 rated club it is today.
