Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
An essential guide for the golfer who likes to travel and experience the great courses of the world. The storied links of golf's birthplace--the British Isles--are covered thoroughly, as are the more recently built favorites in the U.S. and even courses as far off the usual cart path as the Bali Handara Country Club. The courses are organized by country and region, and course descriptions include such stats as designer, par, greens fees, rules, and season; historical facts; and accounts of particularly distinctive holes. Also included are travel directions and information about local services such as lodging, restaurants, and non-golf activities.

Product Description
Imagine the first crisp breath of wind off the sea while lining up your shot to a still-distant, postage-stamp green.Or the funny caddie whose advice more often steers you to his favorite local pub than to the proper iron.Or the brilliant sunset as you relax on the clubhouse terrace after an inspiring round.

For the true golf enthusiast, the perfect golf vacation is not just about yardage and tee-off times.Golf Travel's Guide to the World's Greatest Golf Destinations takes you on an intimate journey through every aspect of the golfing experience, including the glories and glitches of course design, the condition of the greens and fairways, and the quality of services both on and off the course. In addition, this unique guide details the lodging, dining and non-golfing options for each destination, making this the one truly complete travel guide for your golf vacation.Enjoy!

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The single best golf travel book ever written   December 5, 2000
As an avid golfer and golf book reader, I can honestly say this is the best golf travel book I have ever read. Very informative, wide-ranging, and brilliantly accurate. Can't wait for a new edition!! I've memorized this one.

5 out of 5 stars Great degree of accuracy   March 12, 1998

After just returning from a wonderful vacation playing golf for a week on the Monteray Peninsula, I can tell you that the reviews contained in this book for all of the peninsula's courses are right on the mark (both positive and negative). The text is coversational and the advice/recommendations are very good. Keep in mind though, the courses and facilities recommended are not necessarily for the bargain golfer - but then again, they have reviewed some of the most beautiful and well renowned courses in the world. I highly recommend this book - it is a very conversational read and contains lots of great stories. It is a very useful guide for investigating and planning golf vacations around the world.
