There's are better Colorado golf guides than this one.... June 24, 2008 If you're looking for a book on the history of Colorado golf, than this might be the one, but if you bought the book for guidance in choosing where to play golf, as I did, you will be disappointed. No where in the book does he distinguish between public, semi-private or private country clubs. I know he wanted the book to be an all inclusive one, but come on, just a little asterisk to note that the course is not open to the public would have been helpful. I'm curious to know how many people called, or worse, showed up at a course just to be turned away. So, basically after buying this book, I still have to get on an online golf guide to make sure the course is open to the public. He also doesn't include information such as "carts only before noon" or "9-hole play only after 2:00 on weekends". Finally, most golfers want to know if course has a driving range/practice area, not all courses do. This is information that you are looking for when deciding where to play, does this guy even play golf?? I'd rather this information than notes on where to eat afterwards. Seems food and beer are more of a priority for this guy. There are better Colorado golf guides out there.
Price is right, book is awesome July 10, 2004 The Colorado Golf Bible is excellent. I particularly like the history and old photos along with the history of the towns where the golf courses are located. Lots of little known facts throughout this book. There's nothing like this in Colorado or any other state that I know of that has so many interesting items about the days of old west legends, giving you real insight and understanding to what this beautiful state is all about. Amen!. The book needs to be praised. Can't wait until it is updated in a few years, I'm sure there will be even more good stuff.
Above expectations June 10, 2004 Was surprised. This book is excellent. Lots of Colorado Golf history. Well-written and flows easily. Like the history of the towns where the golf courses are and suggestions about "hidden gems". This is a must for anyone who love to travel and play golf in Colorado.
Best Guide to Colorado Golf, ever June 2, 2004 Most all of the Golfers I know love to find the hidden Gem course that is usally off the beaten path. I have found in "Golf Bible" the answer to finding all of them. This is GREAT! The write-ups are way more than a course directory and actually help you decide if that course should go on your play list. I love the way it is organized and provides all the information to make your golf outing a complete success. Now that I have mine, I can honestly say it is worth twice as much as they are asking. A true bargin. It will be in my bag from now on. Thanks David for a great job.
Enjoying Colorado Golf Courses June 1, 2004 Excellent, easy to carry Golf Course descriptions for avid Colorado and traveling Golfers. Also informs us the best places to eat, etc. when traveling for Golfing pleasure. Highly recommended!
