WHERE'S THE BEST GOLF COURSE FOR MY GAME?? September 18, 2000 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Golf Digest has assembled a very useful reference guide which includes 4,200 listings of both public and resort courses in America, Canada, Caribbean and Mexico. For ease of search, the book is divided into 2 parts: the Eastern and Western states arranged alphabetically. The Index has alphabetical listings of both the city or state plus the name of the golf course itself, if that be the method of search. Found the Table of Contents list of the Five-Star Courses, Super Value Courses, Great Value Courses, and Frugal Favorites very helpful. The detailed description of each course, its policies, prices, and player comments is a great addition to the guide. "Know Thy Destination" prompts the Guide's Introduction, including the addresss, phone numbers and directions, which were a great help. A thoughtful addition to the guide is the chapter: TAKING YOUR GAME ON THE ROAD, "There's More to a Golf Vacation Than Just Packing Your Clubs and Booking Tee Times". This reviewer suggests that golfers check with reservations to confirm prices of green fees and golf carts as they may have changed since the 2nd edition was last printed in 1996.
