Just in time for the holidays enjoy eight Magic Tree House chapter books in a special CD gift set. As an added bonus, listen to an interview with the author and reader, Mary Pope Osborne.

These eight stories, currently available as two retail volumes on cassette with a combines price of $36.00, are being offered now along with the interview in a 5-CD set at a special price of $30.00.

Dinosaurs Before Dark
Jack and his younger sister, Annie, stumble upon a tree house filled with books. Before Jack and Annie can figure out the mystery of the tree house, it whisks them back to the prehistoric past. Now they have to figure out how to get home. Can they do it before dark, or will they be become a dinosaur’s dinner?
The Knight at Dawn
Peacocks for dinner and boys in skirts. That’s what Jack and Annie find when the Magic Tree House transports them back to the Middle Ages for another wild adventure. They find themselves in the middle of an enormous castle and can hear the beginnings of a feast under way in the Great Hall. But Jack and Annie aren’t exactly welcome guests!
Mummies in the Morning
Jack and Annie don’t need another mummy. But that’s what they get when the Magic Tree House whisks them back to ancient Egypt after reading a book on the same subject. There they find themselves in a pyramid face to face with a long dead queen named Hutepi. Will Jack and Annie be able to help her, or will they end up as mummies themselves?
Pirates Past Noon
It’s a veritable treasure trove of trouble when the Magic Tree House carries Jack and Annie back to the days of deserted islands, secret maps, and dangerous pirates! Will they discover the hidden buried treasure, or will they face the possibility of walking the plank?
Night of the Ninjas
Have you ever met a real live ninja? Jack and Annie do when the Magic Tree House whisks them back to ancient Japan in search of enchantress Morgan le Fay. When they arrive, they find themselves in the cave of a ninja master. Will they learn the secrets of the ninja? Or will the evil samurai warriors get them first?
Afternoon on the Amazon
Vampire bats and killer ants? That's what Jack and Annie are about to run into when the Magic Tree House whisks them back in time to a South American Rain Forest in search of the elusive Morgan le Fay. It's not long before they get hopelessly lost on the Amazon River. Will they be able to find their way back to the tree house before they are trampled by stampeding killer ants?
Sunset of the Sabertooth
The Ice Age is very cool . . . for two kids in bathing suits! Jack and Annie nearly freeze when the Magic Tree House whisks them back into the time of cave people and woolly mammoths. But nothing can stop them from having another wild adventure–not even a sabertooth tiger!
Midnight on the Moon
Three . . . two . . . one . . . BLAST OFF! The Magic Tree House whisks Jack and Annie off to the moon–and the future. Their mission? To find the last “M” thing that will free Morgan from the spell. Can they do it before the air in their oxygen tank runs out? Will they mysterious moon man help them? And why is Peanut the mouse acting so strange?

5 out of 5 stars amazing!   November 20, 2008
I originally got one of the stories from a Wendy's kids meal. My daughters, 2 and 5, loved listening to it in the car so much that I decided to buy more. It makes running errands and the drive to grandma's sooo much better. The Wendy's CD also had a song from Magic Tree House the Musical. My 2 year old would ask for "the pirate song" over and over again so I bought that CD as well. They LOVE it. So I recommend that too for any MTH fans out there.

5 out of 5 stars best gift ever   November 2, 2008
I usually just read reviews, not write them but I thought this warranted the time. We bought this for our five year old daughter for Christmas last year. She liked them but my three year old son has gone nuts over them! He will listen to them everyday for hours at a time. He can even recite parts of them. It's amazing. He loves all of the adventures. I must say, I haven't gotten tired of them either which I can't say of most kid CDs. Mary Pope Osbornes voice is quite calm and soothing. I highly recommend these CDs. They are great for nap time or quiet time. I just ordered the next two sets for him for his birthday and Christmas. I hope he likes them as much as the originals.

5 out of 5 stars My 4 yr old LOVES these!!!!!!   October 6, 2008
Granted my 4 yr old is a book-aholic, but these are by far her favorite! She will listen to these in one sitting if I will let her. We checked them out at the library and inside of 2 weeks, we listened to them 5 times. Needless to say, I decided she needed her own set, so she will be getting this and books 9-16 for christmas. Oh and by the way, this is a great price. They sell for $33 at borders in my neck of the woods.

5 out of 5 stars Great for the imagination!   September 16, 2008
My daughter (8) loves listening to these stories! It helps her concentration and encourages her to be more imaginative and descriptive in telling her own stories. A lot of fun to listen to together!

4 out of 5 stars Auditory learners will enjoy this educational series   September 13, 2008
When I first read these books to my children, I was somewhat dismayed by the lack of excellence in writing style. Now that we have further immersed ourselves into the series, I can forgive that to a degree. Each book in the series (more later in the series than in the beginning) delves lightly into a given topic and gives a wonderful introduction into a given period in history. For example, in the Egypt story, enough background is given into the subject matter, i.e., why Egyptians were mummified (given in a factual and not gruesome manner), why they placed certain objects inside the tombs, etc., just enough information to help younger children understand the story and piques their interest to want to learn more. I love the fact that most of the stories have an accompanying research guide that delves into the subject matter in further detail. Great for homeschoolers, I am sure. The historical information is factually accurate and presented in an interesting manner by the two young children.
