Product Description Colombia is a country of vast exotic culinary creations and diverse territories that range from the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean, producing a plentiful variety of seafood; to the Amazon, Magdelena and Cauca rivers that bathe its soils with fertility; and to the Andean mountains that present coller climates. The author travelled throughout these regions to collect the most authentic dishes. With over 175 recipes and a glossary of ingredients, cooks will become acquainted with many of Colombia's indienous foods, such as cilantro, tamarind, tree tomatoes, gooseberries and sweet and hot peppers.

Pleasantly happy with this Colombian Cook book October 15, 2008 Before I purchased this book I was reading a lot of reviews that were complaining about the book on how it lacked pictures. I do agree that it doesn't have colorful pictures where you can base your cooking on but if you see past the pretty pictures, this book is amazing. It is very descriptive on each food and it gives you a history on each section you go into. The author of this book was very informative to explain to the reader why certain foods are cooked the way they are and what holiday, occasion, this food is prepared.
I've tried a couple of recipes from this book and they were phenomenal! I'm Colombian but was born and raised in the U.S. so I never really learned how to cook Colombian food. This book has been a great key to open the doors to Colombian food. It's very easy to understand and did I mention the food is great? Buy it, you won't be disappointed! Just skip all the pretty pictures and cook! :)
Excellent! September 2, 2008 This is the best Colombian Cookbook I have ever had. I am going to order copies for my children and friends as Christmas gifts. It is a great way to keep the colombian cooking tradition alive! Thank you!

It is great to get these recipes in English, so that non-Spanish speakers can share in the greatness that is Colombian food.
Secrets of Colombian cooking July 25, 2008 I am colombian. This is the second of the same book I bought. The first one, I gave it to my step-daughter-in-Law who is from Thailand and loves colombian food. She asks me for it every time she visits. The second book I gave it to my step-daughter who is american, for her b-day. She wanted the book when she ate pandebonos and the empanadas I cooked for her. We all are very pleased with the book, the recipes are very accurate and easy to understand.
Great but some ingredients are hard to find July 13, 2008 Went to Colombia and fell in love with the food. This great recipe book covers much of what I ate while visiting Colombia. However, some ingredients are not readily available. Some can be found in stores specializing in latin foods and some are not available at all, i.e. lulo.
