This is an invaluable guide to the best golf in the U.S. I can't imagine planning a golf trip without it.

I've found this book to be a great source of information when looking for golf courses to try out... Everything you need to know is presented along with a star rating that I've found to be quite accurate in most (but not all) cases. It's even just fun to browse through and dream about playing courses that are too expensive or too far away! In any case, I've been introduced to some great courses through this book that I wouldn't have discovered otherwise...
 Golf Digest's Places to Play (3rd Edition) November 27, 1999
Before traveling to Florida last summer, I purchased five books on Florida golf. Because of time constraints and a somewhat inflexible schedule, I wanted to make the best choices possible in each area I visited. This book was not only the best written and most informative of the books I purchased, it was also the most accurate. The others seemed biased or misinformed. After playing a round or two, I gave the other books away. I hope this reference is updated every year!

Book could of gave more information like pace of play, drinking water, customer service, discount for seniors or ladies day information. Ratings of greens and fairways, Jr golf information,local hotel rates, etc,
This book is my vacation Bible. May 7, 1999
This book is my first reference when planning golf vacations. The information helps me determine the best time to go, which courses to play in the time available and has helped me discover some hidden gems. It is a wonderful source of information, succinctly written and quite accurate in its assessments. If you are a traveling golfer, you need this book.
